Reset Speedport w724v: How to reset
If you have any problems with the Speedport w724v, you can simply reset it. Most problems are fixed with a reset - we show them two ways how it works.
Reset Speedport w724v: how it works on the device
There are two ways you can reset the Speedport w724v. It is particularly easy to reset the router directly on the device:
- To reset the Speedport w724v to its factory settings, the router must be connected to the mains.
- On the back of the device you will find a small opening to the right of the power connection. "Reset" stands above it. Insert a pointed object into the opening and hold the small switches inside for five seconds. A paper clip and a pin are suitable, for example.
- Then remove the tip from the opening.
- After about 90 seconds the reset is complete and you can set up the speed port.
Reset Speedport to factory settings
A second option is via the Speedport user interface:
- Open your browser and enter "speedport.ip" or "192.168.2.1" in the address bar (more in the video).
- Log in with your access data.
- Under the "Settings" tab, call up the "Troubleshooting" menu item.
- Select "Reset all settings" from the selection and then "Factory settings".
- You will be asked again if you really want to reset the settings. If you confirm with "OK", the device is reset.
- When the reset is complete and the router is restarted, the login window appears on your screen.
