Find out the memory space of the graphics card
Modern graphics cards often have a lot of memory. How big it is can be found out quite easily - in the normal Windows settings or with a small graphics tool. We'll show you both options.
Find out the graphics card memory in the Windows settings
- Right-click on an empty area of the desktop and select "Screen resolution". Alternatively, you can also go to the control panel: "Display and adjustment"> "Adjustment"> "Display"> "Adjust resolution".
- Click on "Advanced Settings".
- In the new window under "Graphics card" you will get the rough information about your installed graphics - including the memory.
Determine the memory space of the graphics card with GPU-Z
The first variant has a disadvantage: If you use a computer with two graphics solutions, these are not sensibly separated. However, a combination of the Intel (R) HD graphics and a stronger NVIDIA graphics card is often installed in mobile devices and is therefore very common. Here the tiny program "GPU-Z" is recommended. After installation, you can select the graphics card there and display its individual data.
This practical tip relates to Windows 8 Pro 64bit. Another practical tip tells you how to find out your processor's data.
