Donate via Facebook - how it works
With Facebook you have the opportunity to reach millions of people and collect donations. We show you how you can make donations in the social network and collect them yourself.
Make a donation on Facebook
- If you find the "Donate" button on a Facebook page like the "American Cancer Society" at the top of the title picture, you can donate directly via Facebook.
- Select the desired amount and then pay with PayPal or credit card. Your data will not be passed on to the company. You can also download a donation receipt. Tip: If you use PayPal, not even Facebook will find out your payment details.
- Only a few organizations are currently allowed to collect donations on Facebook. The Facebook page of "The ALS Association" has a button "Donate now". You will be redirected to an external donation form, Facebook reports beforehand that this donation will not be processed directly via Facebook, but externally.
Collect donations on Facebook
- If you would like to collect donations on Facebook yourself, this is possible both with a private profile and with your own Facebook page. It is only important that your call spreads.
- Unfortunately, you cannot collect donations yourself via Facebook. To do this, you must refer to your own website or other donation websites. The website fundraisingbox.com, for example, offers donation forms for your own website.
- If you run your own Facebook page, you can use the "Donate now" button on your page as in the example above. You can do this using the Call to Action buttons.
In the next practical tip we will show you how to create a donation link with PayPal.
