- If you only have a slight cold, you can definitely do some sport. However, take it easy and stop when you realize that you are not fit enough.
- If you also have a fever in addition to the cold, you should not be active in sports. The virus is not properly combated in the body by the strain of sport. This may allow you to penetrate to the vital organs and cause inflammation there.
- Note: In particular, inflammation of the heart muscle can be the result of too much exercise during a feverish cold. But a delayed cold can also cause the inflammation.
- Exercising during a cold also extends the actual time of illness. The immune system works particularly intensively during the cold, and sports then no longer provide important resources. The infection becomes stronger or lasts longer.
- The more severe your cold was, the longer you should avoid exercising afterwards. However, light activities such as going for a walk are possible. After a feverish cold, we recommend you rest for at least another week.
- Note: Above all, follow the advice of your doctor. He will advise you against sport in case of severe colds.
