Sports bra or sports bustier? Breast size is crucial
Whether a sports bra or a sports bustier is the right piece of clothing for your workout depends in part on your bust size. In this article, we show to what extent the chest size plays a role in choosing the right sportswear.
Sports bra or bustier: these are the most important purchase criteria
Whether you wear a bra with a fastener during sports or prefer the bustier shape with a ring back is a question of your preference. Here you should not decide purely on the look, but rather on the appropriate shape of your breast size, including its circumference:
- What is important is the support force that the top offers. High quality products indicate this. The support you need depends on the type of sport you are doing.
- For sports such as walking, cycling, yoga or Pilates, a sports bra with low support is sufficient.
- If you are doing something more dynamic, such as Nordic Walking, you need a top with medium support.
- If you practice a ball sport, you need a sports bra or a sports bustier with strong support.
- A very strong support force is required for all sports that are associated with up and down movements. This includes not only jumping rope, but also riding and jogging.
- If you have a large bust size, it is not only the type of sport that is decisive when choosing the support strength. If you wear C-cups, your sports bra or bustier should have at least a medium support. This is also possible if you practice less strenuous sports.
- Anyone who wears a D-Cup or even bigger bras in everyday life is well advised with a sports bra or bustier with strong support - even if it "only" should be about yoga.
So that the sports utensil fits really well, we will show you in our next post how to measure the bra size correctly.
