Sports bra: determine the correct size - how it works
The sports bra size plays just as important a role in doing sports as other sports equipment. In this article, we will explain how to find the right size for your sports bra and what you should consider when it comes to quality.
Sports bra size - so you measure properly
A good sports bra should be just as much a part of sports equipment for women as real running shoes. Because the larger the bust size, the higher the chance of injuries such as tissue damage or back pain during sports.
- Another important aspect is the size of the bra. The more suitable the size, the more comfort your sports bra offers. You can easily measure your size.
- To do this, determine the chest circumference with normal tension and normal breathing, measuring at the furthest point.
- Then measure your underbust circumference, i.e. directly under the breast. These two values determine your cup size.
- You can calculate your cup size using the formula: Chest size minus underbust size = cup size
Your matching cup size
Use the list below to determine your cup size. On the left side you can see the difference between chest size and underbust size, on the right side the corresponding cup size.
- 12 to 14cm = A
- 14 to 16cm = B
- 16 to 18cm = C
- 18 to 20cm = D
- 20 to 22cm = DD
- 22 to 24cm = E
The quality of the sports bra
It makes sense to invest a little more money in a good sports bra. One of these features is a good hold.
- It should also consist of breathable functional material and you should feel comfortable in it.
- The underbust band should be tight to help the chest move, but not so that it presses or hurts.
- It is also important which sport you practice. Different sports require different bras.
- The more you move and the more intense the movement, the more important the bra's level of support and padding.
