Sport1 livestream on your smartphone - Here's how

In its livestream, Sport1 regularly shows current Bundesliga hits, basketball highlights and live games from many other sports. The range of sports can even be accessed on the go with your smartphone or tablet. We'll show you how it works.
How to get the Sport1 livestream free of charge on your smartphone
Sport1 offers a video app for both Android and iOS, with which you can access the complete free video offer of the TV station and even access the live stream.
- You can receive the current TV program if you select "Livestream" and then "SPORT1" in the app.
- You will also find an archive of broadcasts already broadcast, complete seasons of known formats, free event streams and the current program overview of the station in the app.
Even more program: the subscription models from Sport1
In order to access other streams, you have to pay for them. The following options are available:
- Sports enthusiasts should consider a subscription. With the "SPORT1 US" offer, you can access all American broadcasts such as the NBA or NFL. Alternatively, you can also subscribe to the Pay TV channel Sport1 +. Here you will find broadcasts from the Italian league or the Beko BBL. Both subscription models currently cost 10 euros per month.
- It gets even cheaper if you combine both subscriptions: In this case, you only pay 15 euros a month and have practically unlimited access to the live stream offer from Sport1.
Live sports everywhere - This is how the stream runs in your iOS browser
As an alternative to the separate app, Sport1 offers an optimized website for Apple devices. Here, the livestream is already accessible for iPhones and iPads. Here's how to access it:
- First start the browser of your iDevice. It doesn't matter whether you are using Safari or an alternative browser.
- Navigate to the Sport1 website and log in with your access data. Now start the desired livestream.
- The live broadcast now starts automatically and adapts to your bandwidth. That means: the weaker your internet connection, the more pixelated the stream. But you are spared annoying stutters.
- Tip: In many cases, the image quality improves when you reload the page.
Detour to the game - Retrieve Sport1 on the Android browser
On Android devices, the Sport1 livestream does not work without the app without further ado: Here you need a browser with Flash support.
- First install a flash browser you trust. The free apps "Firefox" and "Boat Browser" are particularly recommended.
- Now start the Android app and switch to the Sport1 website. Log in with your account data and start the livestream. After a short loading time, the transfer starts automatically.
- Here, too, it is advisable to reload the website if the image quality is poor or if the jerking is excessive.
If the connection is poor: the Sport1 radio stream
If your current internet connection is not sufficient for a smooth stream, you do not have to do without the live game entirely. In addition to the video livestream, Sport1 offers its own radio station on which all current games are commented. Here's how to access it:
- Install the free "Sport1.fm" app from the iTunes or Play store.
- Start the livestream using the large play button at the top of the screen (see screenshot). Alternatively, you can also select a specific stream from the list.
Alternatively: Follow games via live ticker
If you don't like the radio stream, you can stay up to date with the official Sport1 app. Here you will find extensive statistics and match reports for each live game.
- First download the free Sport1 app for iOS and Android.
- Select "Live" at the bottom of the screen. Now you can see the scores of all current games. With a click on the respective result you get more detailed statistics. Alternatively, you can find the live tickers in the other tabs of the respective sports.
In addition to Sport1, ZDF and the private broadcaster Sky also frequently broadcast current sporting events. This practical tip explains how you can access these offers with your iPad.
