If you want to use Spotify as an alarm clock, this is unfortunately not possible with the Spotify app. We'll show you what options are available on iOS and Android.
Android smartphone: Use Spotify as an alarm clock
For Android users, there is finally an easy way to use songs from Spotify as music to wake you up. You need the Google clock app for this.
- Open Google’s watch app and switch to “ Alarm clock ” above.
- Select a desired alarm clock or create a new alarm clock.
- Tap the selected ringtone and switch to the " Spotify " category above.
- You will be forwarded via the " Connect " button. Confirm with " I agree ".
- Your playlists will then be displayed in the clock app. You can also use the magnifying glass to search for any title.
- Simply select the desired playlist or a suitable song and it will be activated as a new ringtone.
Android: Wakeify for Spotify alarm clock
The free Wakeify app has been one of the few ways to set Spotify music as an alarm clock on your Android smartphone. Note: The app was apparently a thorn in the side and was removed from the Play Store, but a safe download is still possible via the linked website.
- Open the app. Use " Add Alarm " (top right) to create a new alarm clock.
- Enter a name and set the alarm time.
- " Snooze Minutes " sets the minutes that the alarm clock slumbers after the first ring. With " Days of the week " you can set the days of the week on which the alarm should ring.
- Under " Songs " you select your Spotify songs. With " Volume Ramping " you can set any duration in which the music slowly gets louder.
- Once you have set all the values, confirm your alarm clock with the " Done " button in the top right corner.
iOS: No alarm app for Spotify
As so often, there are huge differences between Android and iOS. It's no different with Spotify.
- The Spoti Alarm and Alarmify apps also enabled the Spotify alarm clock on iOS. Unfortunately, both apps no longer exist.
- Since an unauthorized interface to Spotify was used, the developers no longer operated within the legally permitted framework. However, the Android apps still exist, sometimes only through detours.
- With iOS, Spotify can no longer wake you up. In the pre-installed alarm clock app, you can at least set the songs from your local library as alarm clocks on the iPhone.
