Spotify Music not compatible with your device: Use the old version now
The update requirement already caused displeasure among users. However, the fact that owners of older cell phone models cannot download the new app or the old one from the Google Play Store does not exactly indicate good service. With one trick you can still use Spotify on your older device:
- Uninstall Spotify on your smartphone and download the apk file from our download area. The file corresponds to Spotify version 0.5.3.56.
- Install the apk file on your smartphone. You can read here how it works. Incidentally, the installation works particularly quickly by email. Simply send the file to yourself by email and open the file on your smartphone. Make sure that the "Unknown sources" checkbox is set in your cell phone settings. This also allows app installations outside of the Google Play Store.
- After installation, log in to Spotify as usual.
