Spotify: no sound - what to do?
There are occasional problems with Spotify that no sound can be heard. Below you will find possible causes and the corresponding solutions.
No sound on Spotify
- First, check the Spotify volume control. Set this to the maximum volume.
- Make sure that the sound is only missing from Spotify or generally on your computer. To do this, play a piece of music or a video on the Internet.
- If you generally do not hear any sound, check the volume of your output device (e.g. speakers, headphones, television, etc.) and whether the device is connected correctly.
- If you still have no sound, the next paragraph tells you how to restore the volume on your computer.
Computer no longer plays sound
- In addition to Spotify, your computer also has volume settings. The corresponding controller can be found in the task bar at the bottom right.
- If you still hear no sound, try restarting your computer.
- Finally, you can check whether the correct playback device is selected in your system settings. To do this, right-click on the loudspeaker symbol in the task bar and select "Playback devices".
- Now click on the device with which you want to play the sound and set it "as standard".
- If the problem persists, you will need to reinstall Spotify.
