Spotify: change country - how it works
As a Spotify Free user, you can only use the service abroad for 14 days. It is therefore worth changing the country. We show you how to do this and what differences there are for premium users.
Spotify Free: change home country
For licensing reasons, Spotify Free users can no longer use the streaming service after 14 days outside the specified country. It is therefore worthwhile to change the country in the settings for a longer holiday or move.
- To do this, open this Spotify website in your browser and log in with your account data.
- Then click on "Edit Profile".
- In the "Country" section, select the desired country.
- Finally, click on "Save profile" to apply the changes.
Spotify Premium: change country
As a premium user at Spotify, you can use the streaming service continuously abroad. If you still want to change the country for the service, you have to do something different here.
- Open this Spotify page in your web browser and log in.
- Now click on the "Subscription" entry and then on "Update details".
- Here you choose the option "Update details" and "Would like to change the payment method".
- There you click on the entry "Change country" and select the desired country.
- Select the desired payment method and enter a billing address in the corresponding country.
- Finally save the changes via "Change payment details".
- Note: The country is not changed directly, but only on the next payment date.
