Whether on the go or at home - with Spotify you can listen to your favorite music anywhere. In this practical tip, we clarify whether this also works on several devices at the same time.
Spotify Music: Use multiple devices at the same time
Spotify is now available for almost every hardware: You can download the tool for Windows, for example, or install the apps for iOS and Android.
- You can log in to your Spotify account on any number of devices. Even as a free user, there are no limits here.
- However, music playback only ever works on one device. If you stream songs from other hardware, playback will automatically stop on the previous device.
- However, premium users can work around the problem with a little trick: download your favorite music and then disconnect from the Internet. You can then play the offline files on one device and stream music on another device.
- This works on up to three devices. Note, however, that you connect each device to Spotify at least once a month. Otherwise the offline songs can no longer be played.
Thanks to Spotify Family: listen to music on multiple devices at the same time
If the download trick doesn't suit you, you can upgrade your account to Spotify Premium. The advantage: You pay EUR 14.99 per month, but receive premium features for up to five accounts.
- You can make specific use of this: Subscribe to Spotify Family with your main account and then add the accounts of your friends or family members. You will find instructions on this topic in a separate practical tip.
- You can then listen to music on several devices at the same time - provided that you are logged in with a different one of the previously entered accounts.
- If you want to use Spotify Family alone, you can create several "fake accounts" and enter them as family members. You can also listen to music on multiple devices at the same time. However, please note that this procedure does not comply with the Spotify terms and conditions and Spotify may therefore block the premium account.
