- After her death, Anna Sydow is said to wander around the castle as a white woman.
Lahneck Castle - Rhineland-Palatinate
Rhineland-Palatinate also has a ghost castle or two. Just like Lahneck Castle, about which there are numerous stories.
- A female figure is said to stand at the highest tower and let a white cloth blow.
- This goes back to a damsel who was in love with a knight from another castle. Since her father forbade him to meet this knight, the meetings took place secretly from then on. The young lady climbed to the top of the tower and let a white cloth blow when the father was out of the castle, which the knight could see from a nearby castle.
- One day, however, the knight was killed in an accident on the way to the castle. The young woman waited several days to let the cloth blow and then plunged to her death. Nowadays, her mind is still said to be waiting for the knight's arrival.
Wolfsegg Castle - Bavaria
There are also creepy castles to discover in Bavaria.
- Wolfsegg Castle is haunted by a "white woman". "White women" are light figures of a woman who wanders around in her last robe. She has either been murdered or has a great debt in her life, so she cannot rest in death.
- In the 15th century, the Duchess Klara von Helfenstein cheated on her husband Ulrich, who was always on the move. She got involved with his arch enemy, whereupon he instructed two peasants to kill her. Even today, her spirit is said to roam the castle.
Wessobrunn Monastery - Bavaria
In addition to the Wolfsegg Castle, there is also an eerily beautiful monastery in Bavaria.
- In the 12th century, the Wessobrunn Monastery was a nunnery. A nun inadvertently broke her vow in the monastery and was banished from the monastery. Instead of walking, she hid in an underground passage on Gilgenberg Castle (today Gögerlberg) on the southeast side of Welheim.
- Soon she died here with remorse. She is said to still walk crying, in white robe, through the hallways of the castle and monastery.
