Spybot: Does Immunization Make Sense?
SpyBot searches for and destroys spyware on your computer - but does immunization make sense? Not always, as we show you in this article ...
Immunization? SpyBot - parallel to virus protection
- SpyBot's immunization blocks known malware sites.
- For example, plug-ins, cookies, images or downloads from these pages are not displayed for security reasons so that the PC cannot be damaged.
- Note: SpyBot does not replace your virus protection! A regular virus scan is therefore still necessary.
- Immunization knows only well-known malware websites. However, since countless new pages appear every day, the tool lags behind. It is therefore of limited use as a spam filter.
- Conclusion: If you use Firefox, immunization does not make sense. The browser becomes unnecessarily slow and only a few pages are filtered out by the tool. For all other browsers, however, you should definitely immunize to protect the computer.
