SSD does not boot - This helps
If your SSD does not boot, we will explain what helps in this practical tip. If you have replaced your hard drive or upgraded the memory with an additional SSD, we will tell you where problems can occur.
This helps if the SSD does not boot
If your SSD hard drive does not boot, the most common cause is that no operating system is installed or it is not recognized.
- Read other articles on how to set up the operating system correctly on Mac OS X, Ubuntu and Windows 8.
- Restart your computer and check in the BIOS whether the hard disk is activated. Also use them with the highest priority during the boot process. If the SSD is older, it could also be worthwhile to switch from UEFI to Legacy in the BIOS.
- If the SSD is installed in a stand-alone PC, check whether the ports are connected correctly.
- Try connecting the SSD to another device to test if the ports are working.
