Change default language for Outlook
In Microsoft Outlook, you can change the default language to customize various items such as spell checking. This practical tip shows you where you can find the option.
Language options in Microsoft Outlook
- Open Outlook and click on the "File" field at the top left (for older versions of Outlook, alternatively click on the Office button at the top left).
- Go to Options in the left column.
- In the new window, select the "Language" menu.
- Here you can see the "Processing language" box right above. German and English are already preset. If you need another language, just go to "Add more editing languages", select the language and click on the "Add" button.
- Now click in the box on your desired default language and then on the right next to "Set as default".
- Confirm again with "OK". You then have to restart Outlook for the changes to take effect.
