Prevent standby mode on MacBook Pro and Air
When you close your MacBook Pro or Air, it immediately goes into standby mode. We show you here how you can prevent this.
Prevent standby mode with NoSleep
Typically, you can't disable Standby mode on any MacBook. You need additional software for this.
- First download the latest version of the "NoSleep" application.
- Then double-click to open the downloaded .DMG file.
- A new window is opening up. This contains the installation file "NoSleep.mpkg". Select this with a right click and go to "Open".
- When the warning message appears that the program is from a non-verified developer, click on "Open".
- Now follow the installation process.
- After the successful installation you should be able to see the NoSleep icon in the menu bar. When you click on it, the color of the icon changes to blue and the standby mode is deactivated. Now you can close the device and still continue to download, for example. With a right click on the symbol you can make various settings.
