- An average alcohol content of 5-10% is achieved with strong beer. However, there are also some varieties that have an alcohol content of around 50%.
- The alcohol content of a beer depends directly on its original wort content. The higher the original wort content, the higher the proportion of alcohol.
- Only beers that contain at least 16% original wort may be called strong beers. For comparison: Schank beers have 7-8% original wort.
- The strong beer "Salvator" from Paulaner, for example, has an original wort content of 18.3%. The alcohol content is 7.5%.
- By the way: With an alcohol content of 57.5%, the German beer "Schorschbock 57" is one of the strongest strong beers in the world.
