Vacuum steak in the dishwasher - how it works
Vacuumed steak can also be prepared in the dishwasher. Sounds strange at first, but it is a practical and inexpensive method.
- You either need a good vacuum device or you can have the meat drawn in by the butcher.
- Put the vacuumed meat in the compartment of your dishwasher where you normally wash your cutlery.
- Be sure to check again beforehand whether the vacuum bag is tight. To do this, press it lightly with your palms. If juice appears on your hands, the bag has a hole and cannot be used. In this case you have to repeat the vacuuming process.
- Another practical tip tells you what else you need to consider when vacuum-sealing meat.
- If the vacuum bag has passed the test, switch the dishwasher to the lowest level. If you have a timer available, set approximately 90 minutes.
- Set the temperature to 50 degrees, switch on the dishwasher and let the meat cook for 90 minutes.
- Now take the steak out of the dishwasher and remove the bag.
- To get roast, briefly sear the meat in heated oil from both sides. Coconut oil or palm oil are best suited. Butter lard gives the meat a special taste.
- Tip : If you want to know if your fat is hot enough, dip a few tiny drops of water into the fat with your fingertips. Hiss or sizzle them, put the meat in the pan.
- In hot oil, you only need 30 to 60 seconds per side of meat until the meat is ready. Depending on how pink you want the meat to be.
- Press the meat lightly with a meat or spatula while roasting. But be careful, because the meat should not become less juicy, but should gain in roasted aromas.
- Keep in mind that fat can get extremely hot and splash. As a precaution, therefore, use long-handled pliers when turning the meat.
- Finally, season the meat with salt and pepper and serve your finished dish.
