On Steam you can collect a lot of badges and thus increase your account level. Our overview reveals which badges are available and how you can unlock them quickly.
Steam: That brings the badges
If you unlock badges in Steam, you will receive a certain number of XP each. This increases your account level and so you unlock many new features. We have summarized all information about the level system in Steam in a special article.
- The coveted badges are mainly obtained through games. Many current games contain trading cards from which you can make badges for the respective game.
- A list of all available games with badges can be found on the Steam homepage. Well over 10, 000 games currently support the collecting fever.
- In addition to the game badges, there are also medals directly from Steam. These badges are listed in the following paragraphs together with the requirements.
Steam: All of Valve's standard badges
You can get some of the Steam badges without doing anything. With others, however, you have to take action yourself:
- Years of service: For your Steam membership, you will receive a new badge with 50 XP points each. In the first year it is 50 XP, in the second 100 XP and in the third 150 XP.
- Community badge: You will also receive badges for community tasks. The list of available tasks (see photo) can be found in Steam under your profile and under the point "Badge". If you click on the "Community Leader" badge, all community tasks will appear. After 5, 14 and 28 tasks you will receive a badge with 100, 200 and 500 XP.
- Buyer badge: As soon as you activate a game in Steam or buy it through the shop, you will receive a badge with 100 XP. This works once.
- Steam Community Translator: Some Steam users are allowed to work as translators on games and Steam. There is a separate badge with 100 XP.
- Moderator badge: There is also a badge for community moderators who ensure order in the Steam forums and the workshop. The selected users receive a one-time payment of 500 XP.
- Developer badge: If you are a game developer and publish one of your games on Steam, a special badge with 500 XP beckons.
- Valve employee: Of course, Valve employees also deserve their own badge. There are also 1, 000 XP.
- Events: You will also receive badges when you buy a game in a steam sale or participate in other community activities. Here you have to keep your eyes open. Valve offers smaller events throughout the year, where you can tap some XP.
