Share Steam library - Here's how
You can share your Steam library with friends and family so that they can access your games. Our instructions will help you with this.
Set up Steam Family Sharing
The feature you can use to share your Steam library is called "Steam Family Sharing". You can share your library with up to five accounts. Prerequisite: Steam Guard must be activated for your account. If so, set up Steam Family Sharing as follows:
- Click on "Steam" in the menu bar of the Steam client and then on "Settings".
- In the "Family" area, select the "Manage Family View ..." button. You can now choose whether to release all games or only games you have specified.
- After clicking on "Next" you set a PIN for the family view.
- The next step is to enter a secret code that will be emailed to you.
Authorize other users
If you want to share your Steam library with a family member or friend, you still need to authorize their computer for use:
- Log in to the computer of the person with whom you want to share your library with your own user data.
- In the menu bar of the Steam client, click on "Steam"> "Settings" again.
- In the "Family" area, mark the account that you want to grant access to your library. Then click the "Authorize this computer" button.
If you've forgotten your Steam username, this guide will help you regain access to your game collection.
