Steam: get booster packs - how it works
On the game platform Steam you get booster packs under certain conditions. We'll show you how to increase your chances of getting the coveted free content.
A matter of time: get booster packs automatically
You will automatically receive booster packs as soon as you have received the maximum number of trading cards from a game. Only the cards that you automatically get from playing count. On Steam, under "Username"> "Badges"> "Booster Pack Permissions" you will find a list of the games from which you can receive booster packs. You can also increase the likelihood of a drop:
- Increase your Steam level by crafting badges. You can find out how this works in the article on Steam trading cards. Every ten levels, the probability of booster packs increases by 20% (see screenshot).
- Only active users get a free pack every now and then. So log into your Steam account at least every two weeks.
Generate booster packs using gems
Just like trading cards, you can also buy booster packs in the Steam Market. But since the last Steam winter sale, there is another option without going through real money.
- You can now convert content from your inventory to the Gems steam currency. You can then exchange them directly for a list of booster packs.
- But be careful: the gems do not always correspond to the value of the things you trade in for them. And of course you don't know which cards are in the end in the booster pack.
- Check beforehand whether it is more worthwhile for you to sell the items in the store in the normal way. You then purchase a booster pack from the winnings.
We'll also show you how to get the smilies for Steam chat.
