Start Steam in offline mode
If the Steam server is overloaded, you can log in in offline mode instead. We'll show you how it's done.
Start Steam in offline mode
Start Steam and there is no connection to the Internet or if the Steam servers are not accessible, Steam also runs in offline mode.
- Steam then offers you the "Offline mode" option when you start. However, some games cannot be started in this mode.
- In an emergency, however, this only works if you have saved your login password and are logged in automatically.
- If you want to start the mode manually, click on "Steam" in the upper left corner of the window and select the option "Go offline".
- Note: If the function is not available, select the "Settings" under "Steam" and deactivate the option "Do not save login data on this computer".
