Steam: No feedback - you can do that
In this practical tip, we will show you what to do if Steam freezes and displays the error message "No feedback".
Steam doesn't respond: you can
- First of all, you should always end the program via the Task Manager and start it again. In this case, end the "Steam.exe" process.
- If the error still occurs, you should reinstall Steam. To do this, open the Steam directory ("C: \ Program Files (x86) \ Steam" by default) and delete all files here, except for "Steam.exe" and the "SteamApps" folder in which your games are located. Then start "Steam.exe" and the program will download the files you just deleted.
- If Steam freezes right after it starts, waiting for a while can help. Under certain circumstances, processes with heavy hard disk accesses that take a load on your system may take place in the background.
- Steam's client registry may also be responsible for the problem. You can create a completely new version by deleting the old file. This is called "ClientRegistry.blob" and is located at the top level in the Steam directory.
Other tips: How to get Steam up and running safely
- If your PC does not have a lot of computing power, close all other running programs and empty your RAM.
- Instead of just deleting the Steam files in the program folder, you can also completely reinstall Steam. In this way, outdated registry entries are also reset.
