Steam Link: Connect the PS3 controller - so it'll work
The original PS3 controller is natively supported by Steam Link. You therefore do not need any additional hardware to use the controller on the streaming box. This practical tip shows you how you can also wirelessly connect the PS3 controller with a trick.
Connect the PS3 controller to Steam Link via USB and Bluetooth
Note that only original PS3 controllers can be used. Clones are not supported.
- First connect the PS3 controller to Steam Link via USB and press the PS button.
- The controller should already be recognized as it is officially supported.
- Go to "Settings" under Steam Link and from there to "Bluetooth".
- Press the PS button for wireless mode again.
- The PS3 controller will appear in Steam Link's Bluetooth list after a while.
- After completing the pairing, you can disconnect the USB cable and use the controller wirelessly.
