Update Steam manually - how it works
If Steam does not automatically update to the latest version on your computer, you can also update the program manually. In this practical tip you will learn how to do this.
Import the steam update manually
If you can log in with your Steam account, the update can be conveniently downloaded via the Steam client.
- In the main window of the client click on the entry "Steam".
- A menu opens. There, select the option "Check for Steam Client Updates ...".
- Steam then downloads the latest update and installs it on your computer.
Update Steam client through third party
If you cannot log in or do not have Internet access on your computer, it is also possible that you download the update from another website and then install it on your computer.
- To do this, download the latest version of Steam or have the update copied to a removable storage device by a friend.
- Run the downloaded setup file on your computer and follow the installation instructions.
- Then start Steam and the tool is up to date.
