Steam: Multiple accounts on one PC - how it works
If you share a computer or even a user account with several people, you can also use two Steam accounts on one PC. We show you how to use both accounts in parallel and what you have to pay attention to so that there are no problems.
Use multiple Steam accounts on one PC
- Click on the "Steam" button in the upper left corner of Steam and select the "Change user" option. You will now be logged out.
- Log in with your second Steam account as usual. If you don't have a second account yet, you can create a new Steam account.
- Of course, you cannot use the two accounts at the same time. Starting the games is only possible with the account you used to buy the games. The installed Steam games may still be displayed in the other account, but you cannot start them. Tip: You can share your games with 'Steam Family Sharing'.
- Note: It is possible to use the same email address again, but it leads to complications. Therefore, choose a new email address for the second account.
- If you experience any unexpected problems, you can always contact Steam customer service.
In the next practical tip, we will introduce you to the best alternatives to Steam.
