Steam trading cards: these are the advantages
The Steam platform has been offering trading cards for selected games for some time. In this practical tip you will find out what the feature is all about.
Steam trading cards - what does it do?
Trading cards, also called "steam trading cards", can be obtained simply by playing the game in question for a while. This gives you about half of the cards that can be played. The other half must either be exchanged with friends via the trading feature or bought in the Steam market. The number of maximum playable cards usually fluctuates between five and nine. After you have collected all the cards of a game, you can "craft" the "Level 1 badge". This process can be repeated up to level 5 and you will receive special extras:
Bonus: Steam-XP
For a Tier 1 badge, you will receive 100XP, which will be credited to your Steam account. Your steam level increases after a certain number of XP, of course the distance to the next level increases the higher you go.
Gambling: Steam Booster Packs
The higher your Steam level increases, the higher the probability of receiving a booster pack. If you are lucky, a booster pack will appear in your inventory. You can now open it or sell it unopened in the Steam market. This may bring in more than selling the individual content. A booster pack contains three additional trading cards and backgrounds for your profile. The cards can also be available in a glitter version. You can then sell these for up to 10 times the value of the normal version or craft a glitter badge with additional glitter cards.
Additional extras in booster packs
Booster packs don't just contain additional trading cards. Other friend slots for your Steam account that increase the maximum number of friends can also be included. Smilies for your chat are also often found. You can either sell them or chat with your friends using your exclusive achievements. Sometimes there are also limited discounts on games in the Steam store. Over time, even higher-quality extras, such as an extra "showcase" for your profile, will be added. You can then use it to present achievements, so-called achievements, to the community.
