Steam: return game - is that possible?
Sometimes a game won't work on your computer that you bought on Steam. This practical tip will tell you whether and how you can return a game on Steam that you bought there.
Return Steam Game: Requirement
With Steam, it is possible to request a refund for almost all purchases in the Steam store. To do this, you must meet the following requirements:
- Steam will refund your purchased game for any reason. You must request a refund within 14 days of purchase and must have played the game for less than two hours.
- You can also return DLCs up to 14 days after purchase. The main game for this must not have been played more than two hours since then.
- In-game purchases will be refunded up to 48 hours after purchase if they have not been used, changed, or transferred.
- You can return a pre-ordered title at any time before publication. After that, the normal conditions apply.
- If you bought a game bundle, it counts as a single game as above. In addition, you must not have transferred a package.
- For purchases outside of Steam, no refund is possible.
- If you are excluded due to cheating, a refund is also not possible.
