Steam: games no longer start - what to do?
Your games no longer start in Steam, this can be due to both Windows and Steam. We'll show you how to solve the problem.
Steam games no longer start: Fix games
- Go to the "Library" at the top of Steam and find the game you want on the left.
- Right click on the game and select "Properties".
- Switch to the "Local Files" tab and click the "Check game files for errors" button.
- The game is then checked and repaired or reinstalled if necessary.
Steam: Deactivate connection to the community
- Click on "Steam" in the menu bar at the top left and select the "Properties".
- Go to the "In-game" category on the left and deactivate the "Activate steam overlay in-game" option.
- Your settings are saved with the "OK" button.
Steam: Always run the game as an administrator
- Press the "Windows" and "E" keys simultaneously so that the Explorer opens.
- Now find the path of the desired game so that you can see the EXE file at the start.
- Right click on the EXE file and select "Properties".
- Go to the "Compatibility" tab above and activate the "Run program as administrator" option.
- Save your settings with "OK" and restart Steam.
