Steam: block players - how it works
You can block annoying players easily and quickly on Steam. You can find out how to do this in this practical tip.
Block players from the Steam friends list
If the player is already on your Steam friends list, you can do the following:
- In the Steam main window, click on "View Friends List" at the bottom right.
- Find the player you want to block here.
- If you click on the small arrow next to the player name, a menu opens.
- Select "Block this player ...".
- A message will appear telling you that you will not be able to send or receive messages afterwards.
- As soon as you click the "Block Player" button, all interaction is prevented.
Block foreign Steam players
For players who are not on your friends list, you have to take a slightly different route:
- In the Steam main window, click on the "Community" tab.
- Under "Find People", enter the name of the player you want to block.
- Once you have found him, go to his profile.
- In the upper right corner you will find the "More" button.
- Then select "Block all communication" in the context menu.
- Clicking "Yes, please block" will add the player to your blacklist.
