Steet Fighter 4 - the 5 best tips
So that you can become king of the street in Street Fighter 4, we will prepare you for the fight game with our tips.
Tip 1: rock-paper-scissors in Street Fighter 4
The greatly simplified basis of Street Fighter 4 is a rock-paper-scissor principle of attacks, throws and blocks.
- A blow or kick hits a throw, a throw hits a block and with a block you counter an attack like a stroke.
- You should internalize this basic principle in order to recognize and play out the basic strengths and weaknesses of your character. All advanced techniques are also based on this.
Tip 2: Use blocks with the cross-up technique
Cross-up attacks are called attacks that hit your opponent behind his block.
- This works because in Street Fighter 4 you can only block in one direction at a time. If you hit the back with an attack, the defender must turn around quickly enough and block in the other direction.
- Since this is comparatively unusual and the timing is not very easy, you land a hit so often and can then start a nasty combo that will kill your opponent.
- As a rule, jump attacks or special techniques such as M. Bison's psycho-crusher that go through the other person are used for cross-ups.
Tip 3: throw correctly for real street fighters
Throws are a strong technique, but due to the short range they are not always easy to perform. However, there are various techniques that make throwing a little easier and ensure your success on the road.
- Ticking-into-throws means that you tap your opponent lightly - for example with a light, quick attack - and cause him to block. Since you were expecting exactly this, you can now use this block and start a throw from the already short distance. If your opponent were open, the risk of reacting with his own attack or avoiding it with a jump would be higher.
- Kara throws are a special type of combo technique that can increase the range of your throws. To do this, perform a long-range attack, such as a medium or light kick, and interrupt it with the throw. To cancel movements, enter the new action while the current movement is not yet complete. Do it right, use the movement of the kick to get within range for the throw, and your opponent is completely unexpectedly on the ground.
Tip 4: Get up faster in Street Fighter 4
When your character is fetched from your legs, you are vulnerable to the ground.
- To avoid this, you can get up faster by tapping briefly as soon as the figure touches the ground. So you get back on your feet quickly.
- Note that you have some leeway in timing. You can use this to surprise your opponent.
- This technique does not work after throws.
Tip 5: Block with focus attacks
You can avoid damage not only by actively blocking, but also through focus attacks.
- With an attack like this, you can deal damage and even break blocks unscathed through an enemy attack.
- Unfortunately, this is not always possible, because for focus attacks you need a filled EX bar and consume it. But the investment is worth it, because in addition to the advantages mentioned, the blows also hit particularly hard.
- Simultaneously press the middle punch and middle kick buttons to charge your focus.
