Stellaris: Sectors - well and fully explained
The strategy game Stellaris is about exploring space and managing foreign planets. Sectors are of great importance here. In this article we explain what it is all about.
Stellaris: what are sectors?
With sectors you can bypass the planet limit on the one hand and on the other hand manage your planets more effectively without much effort. It is an automated system that relieves you of a lot of work and micromanagement.
- The longer you play Stellaris, the more planets you control. With a large number of planets, it becomes difficult to take care of all the factors down to the smallest detail. Finally, you determine how the population is allocated and where which buildings are to be placed.
- Because you as a player should only manage a part of the planets. At the beginning the limit is 5 planets, which can be increased later.
- With too many planets, the overview is missing at some point and the sectors, also called administrative sectors, come into play. You can create these yourself and assign them to planets.
- It is best to divide your territory into sectors. You determine the main planet of the sector and the associated planets. You must also assign a name for the sector.
- The administration is then taken over by a governor, an AI. You can manage some planets in the core area yourself, but once you get too large, you get Mali on your income and influence.
- A sector is also assigned a focus, such as research or industry. You can assign minerals, energy or credits to your sector and decide whether you want to focus more on minerals or credits.
Peculiarity of sectors in Stellaris
- Sectors do not have their own fleet or research. They are part of your research and therefore the research points continue to go entirely to you.
- Administrative sectors do not require autonomy or rebellion, but the population is developing differently than in the core empire.
- It develops its own identity and tends to emigrate to sectors with the same ideology. This can lead to tension.
- If factions form in sectors, they can insist on autonomy there and sometimes achieve independence in this way.
In the next article we will explain how you can quickly improve your influence in Stellaris.
