Stiftung Warentest: Best digital camera ever
Related Videos: Systemkameras Test (May 2024).
Stiftung Warentest awards the best digital cameras every year. The best digital camera ever is not necessarily the latest model. Some models from 2015 easily take on professional system cameras and are even suitable for video recordings. We summarize the test results and show you which weaknesses the top cameras have.
Best digital camera 2017, 2018, 2019 at Stiftung Warentest
- The top grade in the 2017 test of 1.7 was given to two cameras: the Sony Alpha 99 II is not only high on the CHIP leaderboard, but also extremely good according to the Stiftung Warentest (Test 2017). It takes good pictures even in low light, has a very good electronic viewfinder and the manual mode leaves plenty of scope for demanding photos. In addition, the camera shake protection ensures sharp images. At around 2, 300 euros, the system camera with viewfinder is slightly more expensive than other system cameras.
- The second top star in 2017 comes from Panasonic: The Lumix DMC GH5L takes great pictures, has a very fine gradation between light and dark and effective anti-blur protection. The monitor can be opened and swiveled. In the meantime, the camera was also in first place in the CHIP leaderboard. The price is slightly cheaper and costs around 1, 500 euros.
- Best camera 2018 : The Nikon Z7 convinced Stiftung Warentest 2018 (grade 1.4). It is weatherproof, takes great pictures even in low light and is ideal for filming. The image sensor is particularly high-quality anti-reflective - good in backlight. Price approx.3, 000 euros.
- Best camera 2019 : The Nikon Z6 scored 1.4 in January 2019. The more expensive sister model Nikon Z7 has better anti-reflective coating, but the Z6 camera takes the better pictures in difficult lighting conditions. Price approx.2, 000 euros.
- These are two system cameras with a viewfinder, which is the premier class of digital cameras. They offer the most functionality and take the best pictures - but that also has its price. For cheaper compact cameras, read on below.
Digital cameras from Canon and Panasonic: test winner of the compact cameras
In 2014, Canon Powershot G1 X Mark II and Panasonics FZ 1000 shared the first place in the ranking of cheap compact cameras with a grade of 1.7. Both are unbeaten - but Stiftung Warentest has now changed the test method. Therefore the results are not comparable.
- Canon's top camera takes outstanding pictures even in low light, especially with the external clip-on viewfinder. Together they are an unbeatable team, says Stiftung Warentest.
- The testers were also impressed by the video quality. The audio track of the videos is also fine for a compact camera. Only noise caused by zooming cannot be eliminated due to the lack of a microphone connection. At around 450 euros (plus plug-on finder), the Canon camera is a real DSLR bargain in terms of price. Nevertheless, it does justice to its quality, according to the goods test judgment.
- In the 2017 test, the Canon PowerShot SX730 HS and the Panasonic Lumix DC-FZ82 both scored 2.3. They are the best in the price segment under 300 euros.
- This high-quality compact camera is suitable for everyone who is looking for a practical camera with a good zoom and bright lens. However, the lens is not interchangeable, as with the expensive system cameras.
