Stiftung Warentest: In-ear headphones convince with hi-fi quality

Stiftung Warentest calls in-ear headphones for a sound check: 18 headphones have to prove that, despite their small size, they emit a rich sound. Not all of them did it - the best, but convincing ones with a sound at HiFi level. And that doesn't have to be expensive: The price-performance miracle from the test costs just 25 euros.
Product test winner becomes headphone specialist Sennheiser
Sennheiser has the best sound by far:
- The test winner Sennheiser Momentum In-Ear (M2 IEi) is the only one to receive a "very good" for the brilliant sound quality: the powerful bass in rock and pop music and the clear voices in radio plays or on the radio ensured the Sennheiser model the top spot (overall grade: 1.8).
- Due to the oval shape of the cable, the headphones do not knot on their own. However, the shielding from outside noise is not particularly good - a problem with many in-ear headphones.
- Tip: If you value good shielding, you should use noise canceling headphones.
- The product test winner from Sennheiser is available from around 95 euros.
In-ear headphones: price-performance winner from Phillips
Lots of sound for little money: The in-ear bargain from Phillips has everything a good headphone needs. In the test, it has the second best sound quality and comes third in the overall ranking:
- "Well-balanced and lively" - that is how the experts at Stiftung Warentest describe the good sound quality of the Phillips SHE 8100. The treble is a bit stronger than on other models. But whether rock, pop or the weather forecast - the sound can be heard.
- However, the protection from external noise is not particularly good here either, and the cables knot easily. But they can be optimally worn in everyday life and during sports. You can get the affordable models from around 25 euros.

CHIP Test reveals further sound miracles at a bargain price
In the CHIP test of the in-ear headphones, we were sometimes able to discover great sound even in inexpensive models:
- The Phillips SHE 900 5A is available from 20 euros: the basses are a bit muffled, but the rest of the sound is fairly balanced. The attached music control also works with most Android models.
- From 35 euros you get good protection against external noise with the Sennheise MM 30i. Only small weaknesses in the bass frequency were found in the test, otherwise the headphones deliver pure sound.
