Stiftung Warentest: robot vacuum cleaner test
Related Videos: Test Saugroboter 2019: Tierhaar-Testsieger & Krümel-Meister - iRobot & Co. im Vergleich (April 2024).
Stiftung Warentest checked 7 vacuum robots for the February 2015 issue and again 6 vacuum robots in early 2017. In the plaster test, they had to find their own way over thresholds and carpet edges, clean large areas and even remove dirt from carpets. But only two devices did this well. We summarize the details and present the test winner in detail in the video.
Product test winner: Vacuum robot Vorwerk Kobold VR200 in the video
Test winner at Warentest: A clean home has its price
First of all: If the vacuum robots were assessed according to the criteria of normal vacuum cleaners, not a single one would have passed the test. Because the suction power of the small, mobile vacuum cleaners cannot be compared to conventional handheld vacuum cleaners. Among the vacuum robots, the Kobold VR200 from Vorwerk came out on top (rating 2.1). It will reach 2.2 in 2017 under more stringent conditions.
- In the test, the Kobold VR200 cleans large areas, corners and edges best and is characterized by good navigation in the rooms. Even obstacles are no problem for the clever goblin, so that cleaning continues on the carpet. There he was the only one in the test who managed to pick up coarse dust from the carpet and make it look like new.
- You program the robot vacuum directly on the device and can give it a different start time for each day, the testers praised.
- With the help of ultrasonic sensors, the Kobold can easily reach the far corners. At around 750 euros, it was also the most expensive model in the test.
Second product test: iRobot Roomba 880/980
In 2015, the iRobot Roomba 880 took second place with a grade of 2.4. In contrast, Stiftung Warentest tested the Model 980 in the 2017 test, which came second in the 2017 test:
- The Roomba 880 cleans well, but there are some weaknesses in the dust absorption from carpets. With wooden floors, however, everything goes smoothly and the planks shine clean. The Roomba 980 has deficits in edges.
- The vacuum robot, which costs around 680 euros, easily overcomes obstacles and finds its way through the apartment using infrared light. The new Roomba 980 model costs an impressive 999 euros.
- Tip: The predecessor iRobot Roomba 870 is already available for less than 600 euros.
Robot vacuum taillights: Dirty Devil, Vileda and Miele
Don't save at the wrong end: The two cheapest vacuum robots in the test occupy the last places:
- In the 2015 test, the Dirt Devil M608 did not clean as diabolically as its name suggests and took the penultimate place with a grade of 4.0. He cleans very well on hard floors, but carpets are very difficult for him. The navigation is also purely coincidental and without a concept. Price: approx. 170 euros.
- Viledas Cleaning Robot failed in the 2015 test: "Poor" (rating 5.0) was the verdict after the shock protection was broken in the durability test. The cleaning is also worse by classes than with the test winner. In addition, the navigation is arbitrary and a programming function is missing. Price: approx. 100 euros.
- The bottom of the test in 2017 is Miele Scout RX1 Red for just under 500 euros. It failed on the carpet and therefore only received a "sufficient".
