Improve voice in Audacity: These settings optimize the voice
With Audacity you can make a whole range of practical settings so that the voice sounds natural and still good:
- Remove noise: First mark the beginning of your sound track, where only the noise can be heard. Then click Effects> Noise Removal. Now you can have your noise profile determined by clicking on the even button. Once this has been done, switch back to the audio track and mark the clip with [Ctrl] + [A]. Now click "Effects"> "Noise Removal" again. After removing the noise, click "Ok".
- Remove overdrive: Open the "Effects" again and this time click on "Compressor". Remove the clipping here by changing the individual points and adapting them to your audio track. Listen to the voice first before clicking "OK".
- Adjust microphone: Depending on which microphone you use, you can make various settings in the equalizer. Listen carefully to the voice and determine whether, for example, the bass is missing. If this is the case, adjust the setting by pulling the points up or down at the specified points. In the case of bass problems, you can also make additional features under the item "Bass amplification".
- Adjust bass and treble: To further optimize the voice, you can also select the item "Bass and treble" in the "Effects" tab. Set here in decibels how the bass, the treble and the boost should turn out.
- Adjust volume: It often happens that the voice cannot be heard evenly loud. To change that, switch back to "Effects" and click "Normalize". It is best to choose -0.1 decibels and then press "Ok". You can see that the soundtrack is now more even, which affects the volume.
- Compensate for volume fluctuations: You can highlight individual quiet parts and adjust them with "Effects"> "Amplify".
