The Strain is based on the novel series of the same name by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, who are now part of the horror series as a director and screenwriter. At its core, it is about an outbreak that has to be stopped. You can currently legally stream the four seasons of the series on the Internet at various providers.
- Amazon: Amazon Instant Video offers the complete first two seasons. To be able to see the consequences, you need a paid Prime subscription for 49 euros a year. If you are unsure whether you want to invest the money for the series, you can also test the service for 30 days free of charge. Seasons 3 and 4 of the series are unfortunately not included in the Prime subscription, but can be purchased individually at a price of EUR 25.99 each.
- The situation is similar with Sky. Here you only see the first season of The Strain with the entertainment flat rate. Thanks to Sky Go, you can stream the episodes on the go.
The Strain: Buy and stream seasons individually
Since neither Amazon nor Sky offer all seasons of The Strain, we have summarized the most important purchase offers for the missing seasons:
- Maxdome: Here you pay between 20 and 25 euros per season in HD quality. The series is available in German and English.
- iTunes: The same prices are due at Apple. Of course, The Strain is also here in the original tone.
- Other offers: You can also get the first four seasons of the series at the same conditions on Google Play, Microsoft and Juke.
So far it is unclear whether Amazon and Sky will include the remaining seasons of the horror series in their offer. In any case, you can pass the time until then with the online streams from American Horror Story.
