Searching with the Windows taskbar has been extremely easy since Windows 7. It does not list the search results in as much detail as the Explorer. To do this, the taskbar search is a kind of quick access. You can quickly find the program or file you are looking for without having to search via "Start" - "Programs".
How to search using the Windows taskbar
It couldn't be easier. Follow these steps:
- Press the key with the Windows logo.
- Just start typing and enter your search term.
- On the right side, select the category under which you want to search: apps, settings or files.

Alternatively, you can also use the following three keyboard shortcuts to get to your destination even faster:
- Windows logo key + F searches for files directly.
- Windows logo key + Q searches for apps.
- Windows logo key + W lets you search in the settings.
