- You need a sufficiently large and, above all, tall pot and a wooden spoon.
- You also need 200 grams of sugar.
- The sugaring recipe also requires 30 milliliters of lemon juice.
- Finally, measure out 10 milliliters of water.
Instructions for the beauty product: How to do sugaring yourself
The production of sugaring is simple, but not entirely harmless. Children should not be in the kitchen while you are working. You also have to stand at the stove all the time.
- First, put all the ingredients in the cold saucepan and stir thoroughly.
- Only then switch on the stove and let the mass simmer. You have to stir constantly so that the sugar does not settle.
- The sugar mixture will foam up. Then carefully remove the pot from the stove and lower the heat a little. Important: You should be very careful when stirring the pot as well as when removing it from the stove and definitely avoid splashes. Hot sugar on the skin is not only very painful, it also causes severe burns. Should it happen despite the greatest caution, you will find the most important tips for first aid in burning in another article.
- When the hob has cooled down a bit, you can put the pot back on. Don't forget to stir constantly.
- If the mass is initially transparent or whitish, it first turns light yellow and after about ten minutes of simmering, the sugar mass turns brown.
- The color is a good clue to see when sugaring is done. If the mass looks like acacia honey and has its consistency, you can take the pot off the stove. However, you still need to check that the natural hair removal product is ready.
- Simply drop a drop of it into a glass of water. If the mass crystallizes immediately in the water or if it dissolves immediately, the sugaring has to simmer even further - still with constant stirring.
- If neither is the case, a second test follows. Now put a drop of the mass on a plate. After a minute or two, take the paste off the plate and knead it between your fingers. If you can make a ball out of it without any problems, sugaring has just the right consistency.
- If this is not yet possible, you have to let the paste simmer a little further while stirring constantly. If the mass is too firm, fix it with a little additional lemon juice.
- To use the hair removal beauty product, you need to let the paste cool down to room temperature.
- Before applying the paste, you should clean your skin with an alcohol-containing lotion and dust it with a little powder. Not only does the powder make the fine hairs more visible, the paste also adheres better.
- Then spread the room temperature sugar paste against the direction of hair growth. Then quickly pull the paste off in the direction of hair growth. You can repeat this two or three times. Immediately press the treated area with the palm of your hand, avoiding bruises that can result from sugaring.
