SumUp vs. iZettle: comparison of payment services
SumUp and iZettle are the two largest providers of card payments with mobile EC card terminals. We compare the two providers and show you where their strengths lie.
SumUp vs. iZettle - The devices
First we compare the respective card terminals with which payments are accepted.
- iZettle only offers a card reader, which is available in black and white. It has a rectangular shape, a small display, and a keypad.
- The SumUp card terminal is available in two versions in white. The SumUp Air is square and has a keypad and a display. With the SumUp 3G, however, you get a rectangular shape with keypad and display.
- The price of the card reader from iZettle and the SumUp Air is 29 euros, while the SumUp 3G costs 99 euros.
- The SumUp 3G has a special feature. It has an integrated SIM card with unlimited internet and is the only one that can be operated without a smartphone or tablet.
- The iZettle card reader and the SumUp Air are both connected to the smartphone via Bluetooth and used via the respective app.
SumUp vs. iZettle - The Payment
It is important that it can be paid easily and quickly.
- You can find payments made at iZettle in your account after 1 to 2 working days, SumUp indicates a duration of 2 to 3 working days.
- With both providers, their customers have a wide range of payment options. All common cards as well as contactless payments by card or smartphone are supported.
- The two providers do not differ in terms of fees either. Both are due 0.95 percent per EC and 2.75 percent per credit card payment.
