Surface Type Cover is not recognized - that's why
Thanks to the Surface from Microsoft, you can also surf comfortably on the go. If the type cover is no longer recognized, this can be due to various causes. Read in this practical tip what you can do about it.
Surface Type Cover is not recognized - what to do?
- Make sure that you have correctly connected the Type Cover to the tablet and that the connections are properly seated.
- In some cases it can happen that the connections are contaminated by dust and dirt and the Type Cover is not recognized.
- Therefore, remove all dust and dirt by blowing gently. You can also use cotton swabs or toothpicks.
- There may also be an update for the Type Cover. You can check this under "Windows Update".
- Try reloading the drivers by completely turning off your Surface and waiting a minute. Then press and hold the [Power] and [Volume Up] buttons for 15 seconds and then wait another 10 seconds. You can then switch on the device as usual.
- Alternatively, you can try a soft reset. Press and hold the [Power] button and the [Volume down] button until the tablet restarts on its own.
- In the "System Settings" under "Update" you will find the option of "System refresh". In most cases, this option helps.
