Synchronization: The 3 best alternatives to Samsung's Kies
The synchronization tool "Kies" from Samsung is very useful and well thought out. Nevertheless, many users are looking for an alternative because "gravel" repeatedly causes resentment with errors and crashes. We present three tools that you can use to easily synchronize your Samsung device.
1. Synchronization via the Google account
Your own Google account is becoming increasingly important and meaningful, and must be set up for practically every Android device. In addition to calendars and contacts, it can also be used to compare bookmarks, browser history and app data, for example.
- You don't even have to install any additional software to synchronize with your Google account. The settings on the smartphone or the browser on the PC are sufficient.
- On your Samsung mobile device, go to "Account"> "Google"> "Email address" under Settings. There you will see all the elements that Google can currently synchronize. If you remove the ticks, you can of course also deactivate the automatic adjustment.
- Simply call up the data on your computer via the browser: In the so-called "Dashboard" you will find all the data that have to do with your Google account. You can also import and export data here.
2. MyPhone Explorer - sync Samsung smartphone via app
The currently most popular synchronization app for Android is the "MyPhoneExplorer". It keeps practically all data from the system up to date. These include things like call statistics, alarm clocks and SMS conversations.
- The software must be installed both on the computer and on the Android device.
- The data synchronization then even works wirelessly via WLAN or Bluetooth. However, a USB connection is also possible.
- The setup is not complicated and intuitive. However, to find out, for example, how to subsequently synchronize your cell phone with Microsoft Outlook, you can download the "MyPhoneExplorer HowTo" app.
3. doubleTwist - the iTunes clone for Android
"DoubleTwist" is also based on the principle that software is installed on both devices. The computer program is available for both Windows and Mac. You can find the Android app here. The basic structure of "doubleTwist" is similar to Apple's iTunes and is particularly suitable for synchronizing multimedia content.
- The desktop program under Windows is mainly based on the Windows Media Player. Music, photos and videos are taken from this along with playlists. You can in turn synchronize these with your smartphone.
- In the free version of "doubleTwist" a USB cable is required for data transfer. For currently around 5 euros you can buy the app "AirSync for iTunes & AirPlay", with which all processes are carried out via WLAN.
