Setting up Synology as a web server - a guide
You can also set up a web server on your Synology NAS. In this practical tip, we will show you exactly how to do this.
Setting up Synology as a web server - this is how you proceed
- Start the NAS first and log in to the server as an administrator.
- Now go to the "Package Center" and search for "Web-Station". Install the respective tool on the NAS.
- Wait until the installation is complete and then start the "Web station".
- In the main menu you can see the status of all services. To start, click on "General Settings" on the left.
- Under "http back-end server" you have to select "Nginx" and under "PHP" the option "Default Profile". Save with "Apply".
- Now switch to "PHP Settings" and click on "Edit".
- Below, under "Extensions" you will find the PHP extensions, which you can activate at the same time by clicking in the box above. Save with "OK".
MySQL management via the Synology server
- To be able to manage your MySQL databases, you must first activate phpMyAdmin via the "Package Center". After installation, navigate to "// synologyserver / phpMyAdmin /".
- Select the language above and use "root" as the "user name". Leave the "password" free.
- You can now adjust the password for the root user or start directly with the creation of a new database.
