Synology: You may not use this service - you can
When you try to log in to your Synology NAS, you sometimes get the message "You must not use this service". In this article, we explain what you can do to get access to your cloud again.
Synology: You may not use this service - that is behind the message
The Synology NAS's DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system typically does not allow a user to access multiple IP addresses. For example, if you used a VPN service or are still connected to another device, you will receive an error message and will initially be unable to log in.
- First, delete your browser cache and start a new login attempt.
- Try to log in with another browser. If Firefox doesn't work, you can often still get access through Chrome or Edge.
- If you have activated QuickConnect, test whether you can dial in to your NAS using this URL.
- As soon as you have access to DiskStation Manager again, go to "Control Panel"> "Security".
- Check "Improve browser compatibility by foregoing IP testing". Click "Apply" to save the setting.
- If these tips do not help you regain access to the NAS operating system, contact Synology Customer Service.
In the next practical tip, we will tell you what you can do if you forget your Synology password.
