t-online: Set up email on Android - how it works
We'll show you how to set up T-Online on your Android smartphone to check emails there. There are two ways of doing this, which we will introduce you step by step in this practical tip.
Option 1: Download the Android app for T-Online
To be able to access the mails, you can install the Android app from T-Online.
- You can find the app here or just search for it in the Play Store. Install it as usual.
Open the Android app from T-Online
To be able to access your mails, you have to open the app.
- You will now find the familiar screen of the T-Online site and can orient yourself accordingly. At the top left you will find the email area, which looks similar to that on the T-Online homepage.
- If you tap on the email symbol and open it, you will be asked for a user name and password. Enter the data in the appropriate fields and decide whether you want to stay logged in or not. Then click on "Login".
Manage emails with the T-Online app
When you have entered everything completely, your usual menu opens, with which you can manage the mails.
- For example, tap an incoming mail by pressing "Inbox" and read the mail. You can then reply to them, forward them, or move them to another folder.
- Select a new email below the menu. You can recognize the function by the gray box on which "New Email" is written. Include all relevant data such as the destination address, the subject and the message. You can then send the mail, save the draft and add an attachment.
Option 2: IMAP access and external mail app
You can also set up your mail using an external mail app, for example "Kaiten Email". You need some data for this:
- Select the type of incoming mail server. "IMAP" is recommended here.
- Enter the name "secureimap.t-online.de" (without quotation marks) in the field of the incoming mail server.
- Select "SSL" as the security type and "993" as the port.
- Put "securesmtp.t-online.de" in the field of the outgoing mail server (without quotation marks).
- Select "SSL" as the security type and "465" as the port.
- If the outgoing server requires authentication, you should activate it.
