Set up door intercom via Fritzbox - how it works
You can also connect and set up your door intercom with your Fritzbox router. We show you how to do this in this practical tip.
Fritzbox: Set up the door intercom - so it'll work
So that you can connect your door intercom to the Fritzbox, it must have an a / b interface that uses the multi-frequency dialing method. You can see this information in the intercom manual.
- Open the user interface of the Fritzbox and log in with your data.
- Then click on "Telephony" and then on the "Set up new device" button.
- Here the option "door intercom with a / b interface" must be activated and confirmed with "Next".
- In the next step you have to activate the connection to which the door intercom is connected and confirm with "Next".
- In the "Extension numbers" fields, you define the numbers of the individual bells.
- Under "Forward ringing to" you can specify the number to which the ringing should be forwarded. You can choose between one or all phones here.
- Save the settings with "Next" and then "Apply".
Additional settings on the door intercom
If you have to configure the intervals for a busy tone on the door intercom yourself, we have the values here:
- Busy tone: 500ms tone, 500ms pause +/- 20ms (425Hz +/- 25Hz)
- Ringing tone: 1s tone, 4s pause +/- 100ms
- Note: These settings are based on the 1TR110 standard.
This practical tip is based on the Fritzbox 7390 with FritzOS 6.50. We'll tell you what you can do if you don't have access to the Fritzbox in the next practical tip.
