T-shirt with holes: How to avoid the problem
A t-shirt with small holes is not uncommon. If you want to avoid this problem, you should know the possible causes of this damage. We will show you what mistakes there are when handling clothing and how you can prevent them.
T-shirt with holes after washing
If you discover small holes in your clothing, you probably suspect moths as the culprits first. However, other reasons are more often responsible for the damage to T-shirts.
- If the favorite shirt with small holes comes out of the washing machine, this is usually due to frequently made washing errors.
- In the washing machine, hooks on bras or the sharp-edged closures on trousers can cause small holes.
- The problem is easy to fix. Use a laundry bag for bras before putting them in the drum.
- Close the zipper of your jeans and other pants before you wash them. Don't forget to flip the little slider on the zipper.
- If your washing machine is a bit older, it is worth taking a look at the drum. It may be somewhat damaged over time. Then there are sharp edges that damage the clothing.
Other causes of the holes
The problem does not always happen in the washing machine. You can also treat your clothes more gently while wearing them.
- If your T-shirts always get holes in the belly area, the belt buckle can be responsible. If you wear the shirt over your pants, the buckle rubs constantly in one place.
- You can avoid this by moving your belt a little from time to time. Then the buckle does not always rub in the same place.
- If you wear the shirt in your pants, the zipper can be the culprit again. When closing, the sharp teeth of the zipper can tear small holes in the T-shirt.
- Wearing a navel piercing can also damage clothing. Make sure that the belly button jewelry has no sharp edges or tips.
