So that you can sell T-shirts better and generate interest among potential buyers, it is best to photograph the items of clothing as professionally and naturally as possible. In this practical tip, we give you three practical tips on how to do this best.
1. Photograph T-shirts: create contrasts
- The mistake is often made to photograph shirts against an unfavorable background. Ideally, use a plain, neutral background, such as a white wall.
- However, make sure that the background is not exactly the same color as your t-shirt. A white shirt barely stands out against a white background. In this case, use a colorful background.
- You can be very adventurous, but you have to pay attention to the right exposure with the right background. The ideal background should also be where natural light enters the room.
2. Photograph T-shirts: camera angle and orientation
- Use the best possible camera to take pictures of the clothes. However, since today's smartphone cameras often achieve very good results, you can also use them.
- It is important that you photograph the shirt hanging on a coat hook. You can also photograph the t-shirt lying on the floor. In this case, however, make sure that it does not wrinkle too many.
- In any case, you should align the camera so that you photograph the shirt in the middle. Avoid shooting a picture sideways or from above or below.
3. T-shirts photographers: Use natural light
- Ideally, you should use natural sunlight. If this is not possible, make sure that the room and the shirt are illuminated as best as possible.
- When using sunlight on a window, never take pictures against the light. You should have the light in your back so that the T-shirt is illuminated from the front.
- However, make sure that you do not cast a shadow on the shirt. In addition, the folds of the T-shirt should not cast large shadows. You can avoid this by providing good lighting.
