Use tablet as a picture frame - how it works
If you want to use your tablet as a digital picture frame, this is generally possible with any device. We'll show you the options.

- To convert the tablet into a digital picture frame, all you need is a suitable app. There is more than enough of it, some of which are free of charge. We will introduce you to an alternative in the next paragraph.
- So that the tablet does not run out of juice after a few hours, you should connect it directly to the socket. If the tablet runs around the clock, electricity costs of up to 10 euros are incurred annually.
- How much electricity is ultimately used depends entirely on the brightness setting and the runtime. You can calculate the possible consumption yourself: if the tablet is fully charged once a day, you pay around 4 euros per year.

Dayframe: Turn your Android tablet into a digital picture frame
- With the free Android app Dayframe you can turn your tablet into a digital picture frame. Here you are offered several useful functions.
- As a photo stream, you can use both your local photo collection and images from an online service. These include Facebook, Dropbox, Instagram, Tumblr, Google+, Flickr and Twitter, among others.
- Once you have selected the photo source, switch to the "Screensaver". Here you can set the time at which the slideshow should start and end. Individual days can also be switched on and off.
- If there is still a SIM card in the tablet, select below that images are only loaded in the WLAN. In the category "Settings" you will find further helpful settings. Among other things, you can also set up the connection to Chromecast here.
